LUXOR: ‘FUEGO’ solo show
BA Vault Gallery is proud to present LUXOR: “FUEGO La acción no deber ser una reacción sino una creación” the first solo show by the Argentine street artist in the city of Buenos Aires this week with the opening Thursday 18 February and running until Thursday 10 March.
‘FUEGO brings together a collection of more than 60 artworks on canvas and different formats at affordable prices. The designs have all been created especially for the show that will run for two weeks until Thursday 10 March.
Luxor’s striking and colorful artworks have strong influences from Latin American aboriginal culture, popular traditions and symbolism. They often express freedom and man’s desire and struggle to create a better world. “Fire is a message that is really strong in my artworks,” says Luxor. “It’s not only the fire that makes you feel alive but it’s about the spark that makes you want to achieve everything you have set out to do and knowing that it can all be constructed in a dynamic way – that’s the fire.”
Luxor (real name Lucas Esteban Artola) is the most prolific street artist in La Plata, the provincial capital of Buenos Aires. Since 2009, when he first started painting in the street he has amassed more than 400 murals in public places. The themes in his art also often reflect the society around him such as the devastating floods that hit La Plata in April 2013.
Prices for artworks on sale such as sketches and prints start from US$20 up to US$1500 for large canvases, and are also available to purchase and are an affordable way to take home the essence of the BA street art scene.
